NON-FUNCTIONAL Bruker D8 Advance x-ray diffractometer, purchased to the Department of Chemistry, University of Helsinki in 1999. Has been out of use for several years due to some issues in electronics, more detailed explanation upon request. It has been used mainly for analyzing thin films, the current setup being: CuKa source, Göbel mirror for parallel beam, sample stage for flat samples (including knife edge), slit block for x-ray reflectivity measurements (parallel plate collimator included for GIXRD measurements), and scintillation counter as a detector. Pictures of the instrument and components are in the attached pdf file. Maybe noteworthy is that there are unused Ge (022) four-bounce primary monochromator and a secondary monochromator, capillary spinner, regular sample spinner, sample holders etc. All the optics and goniometer should be in working condition.

Computer is included with main softwares and versions including:
- DIFFRAC plus XRD Commander 2.6.1 (from 2000) for controlling the instrument
- EVA 2 (v.9.0.0.2 from 2003) for XRD analysis
- LEPTOS 7.03 (from 2009) for XRR/rocking curve analysis
- bunch of other software, like D8Tools for analyzing/maintaining the instrument, data conversions, measurement program creators, etc.
Currently running on WindowsXP, parallel port is needed for the dongle in order to run the softwares. Last time I checked it was communicating quite ok with the instrument, drives moving etc.

Chiller is not included as this was running with a heat exchanger between the diffractomerer and department's cooling circuit.

Mahdolliset viat tai puutteet

Won't turn on the tube, thinks there's no water flow while there clearly is. Probably a problem with one of the circuit boards or other electronics communicating between the instrument and the flow meter. Not a flow meter problem, that has been changed.
